De Rotterdammer #8
“The Old Station” by Laura Aranda (Studio Amargo)
I chose Rotterdam Centraal Station as my focal point, specifically the old building. When I moved to the Netherlands and began making friends while exploring my new surroundings, Centraal Station naturally became our main meeting point.
The station holds bittersweet memories for me. It was a constant reminder that I was in an unfamiliar place, starting a new chapter in my life. Yet, at the same time, it became the starting point for countless adventures and the birthplace of many cherished friendships.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from AKV St. Joost in 's-Hertogenbosch. During her studies, she discovered screen printing and began incorporating it into her work, which helped her develop a distinctive style. Over the years, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and creative projects. In addition to her artistic practice, Laura works as a graphic designer and conducts creative workshops, primarily focusing on screen printing.
She continues to develop her personal work under the name Studio Amargo.
