About

De Rotterdammer
is a project inspired by The New Yorker with the aim to show the talent of local artists and the personality of this city through illustrated covers of a fictional magazine. Iconic spots and events but also intimate scenes of the daily life in Rotterdam displayed in a collection of quality art prints.

WHO ARE WE?

Gözde and Enric, two Rotterdammers by adoption, wanted to create a collaborative project to connect with the illustration community.

Gozde Eyce is a visual artist originally from Istanbul, based in Rotterdam. Her work includes relatable, and imperfect illustrations, mostlyin collaboration with publishers, NGOs, and small businesses. Her children’s books have been internationally published and she taught a course for Domestika on how to make them.

Enric Adell is a graphic designer and illustrator from Barcelona, established in Rotterdam since 2019. He combines his work as the Art Director of magazines Rouleur, Volata and Pickpocket with freelance illustration and design jobs.

You can find us both working from Het Rotterdam Collectief, a collaboratively run coworking space in the amazing Schieblok, in the center of Rotterdam.
