'The death of the famous gorilla Bokito comes as a bolt from the blue. Bokito was 27 years old.' Bokito, the silverback gorilla who became world famous after he escaped by making a miraculous jump from his great ape enclosure in Rotterdam Zoo. 'A cry for freedom.' He was beautiful and should not be forgotten as a Rotterdammer.

Suzan Linssen works as a graphic designer and completed the 'Visual Stories' course at the Venster Academy in Utrecht in 2025. Illustration is her passion. The handicraft and graphic techniques are visible in her sketchbooks through linocuts and woodcuts, etchings, mixed media, pen, pencil, gouache. 'Beauty is precisely in the imperfection.'
