De Rotterdammer #34
"Let's go Kino" by Anna Boulogne
"Kino is my favourite cinema in Rotterdam, and probably the whole world. I love its cosy, warm and inviting interior and its buzzing energy on rainy weeknights. Cycling to Kino after a busy day always feels like coming home. In this illustration I drew myself with a dear friend of mine in front of Kino’s iconic bar, ready to have a drink, catch up and enjoy a good film together.”

Anna Boulogne is an illustrator based in Rotterdam. She grew up in Brussels, but has been sticking around in Rotterdam after moving here to study illustration in 2018, and has been working here as a freelance illustrator ever since. Anna’s work is delicate and funky. Embracing quick strokes and colourful compositions, her illustrations aim to resonate a sense of calm. She focuses on editorial illustration, but when she is not drawing for editorial clients, you can find her drawing the people dear to her in her life - or in the cinema.
