De Rotterdammer #18
"Roffa is smol but I’m always so l8" by Anna Bonomi
"When I moved to Rotterdam, I was shocked by how small the city felt.. it was about four times smaller than Milan! I thought, 'Wow, no more being late.. my life is officially under control!'
On the cover, that’s me: a determined cyclist fighting for their life to reach their destination on time, as usual carrying at least two bags and being extremely late. They’re racing through a patchwork of iconic Rotterdam landmarks: the sharp lines of the Erasmus Bridge, the tilted Cube Houses, the beloved Noordplein Saturday market, and the IF Festival symbol, popping brightly on the right.
I gave this little character a couple of iconic Rotterdam elements too: a white and blue Susan Bijl bag and a loose Feyenoord scarf..both flapping wildly in the wind. Just like me, they’re trying to keep up with the city’s energy."
