“Nacht onder de metro" by Conform Cox

"I drew Maashaven metro station, located next to the Maassilo. What I love about Rotterdam is its brutalist architecture these buildings have a strong graphic quality, making them great subjects to draw. I don’t particularly like a city that feels too clean; I prefer Rotterdam at night being outside, observing people, and witnessing small stories unfold. That’s why I chose to combine these elements in this piece. I created this drawing using fineliner and colored pencil."

Conform Cox is the studio of Cox Janssens, located in Keilewerf 2 in Rotterdam. You can turn to Cox for a variety of projects, with storytelling—both visual and otherwise—at the core of her work. In her independent projects, she explores different perspectives on "the normal" by collaborating with scientists and education professionals.
