De Palestijn
“Pas geboren of net gestorven?" by Gozde Eyce
"A woman holds her baby, maybe just born, maybe just died. You’ll never know, just as you never chose where you were born. This artwork is a reminder of what too many choose to ignore: the ongoing reality in Gaza.
Today is my birthday, and I’m lucky to have been born in a safe and secure place but they weren’t. It’s easy to live wrapped in comfort, to forget that what feels normal to us is a privilege. But distance doesn’t erase someone else’s suffering. Your everyday routine is someone else’s unreachable dream.
As a visual artist, I didn’t create this simply because I can or because I love drawing, I created it because I believe that without speaking up, art means nothing."
